I have about two-hundred ATmega1280 chips and nothing to do with them. The ATmega1280 chips in the store aren't moving quickly enough. It would be awesome to come up with a project for these, so they don't go to waste.
An ideal solution would consist of a microcontroller, passive components, and a limited set of other ICs. Something useful would be good, but whimsical is okay too.
Here are some general design constraints, but I'm open to all ideas.
- Must be sellable
- Product is discontinued after the ATmega1280's are all gone
- Okay to use V-USB
- Minimal programming effort
Right now I'm thinking of just dropping V-USB on the 1280 and interfacing with a bunch of sensors. What ideas do you have?
